Just quickly skim thru the D700 review in dpreview.com. There is nothing really new there but the conclusion which I quote below really make me excited:
“The D700 offers an enormous, almost five stop RAW headroom that allows you to even pull back highlight detail that has been blown out beyond recognition.”
Is this something real? Or just some unsolicite claim by the reviewer? If that is real, the D700 would really worth what it cost but I doubt as there don’t seems to have much fanfare for this important image quality related feature from other sources. The physical response of any photographic sensor could have achieve that too.
